Galaxy Care TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Screen, reverse side and water damage insurance is only available for particular SAMSUNG mobile devices. Learn if the mobile device chosen by you is insured from your seller.

If the Galaxy Care application is not installed on your device, download it from Galaxy Apps. If insurance is available for your device, you will receive confirmation upon opening the application. After receipt of the confirmation the insurance will be automatically activated for the next 3 months.

During the insurance period repair is provided up to 2 times.

Your deductible own risk or co-funding for repairs is EUR 30 for the first and EUR 50 for the second repair, following devices:

Your deductible own risk or co-funding for repairs is EUR 50 for the first and EUR 70 for the second repair, following devices:

Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935F)
Galaxy S8 (SM-G950F)
Galaxy S8+ (SM-G955F)
Galaxy Note 8 (SM-N950F)

If the device has been twice repaired twice within the insurance period, then the insurance expires after the second repair.

The device repair will be refused if:

  • damage is due to wear and tear of the device;
  • the screen is only scratched, not broken (in case of screen damage);
  • glass back panel is only scratched, not broken (in case of glass back panel damage);
  • liquid has penetrated the device as a result of its body defect or damage (with regard to damage by water);
  • damage repair is covered by the device warranty;
  • the device does not have original SAMSUNG parts;
  • damage has occurred after expiry of the insurance period;
  • the device has not been delivered to the service centre for repair within 14 days after the occurrence of damage;
  • insurance is activated later than 30 days after purchase of your mobile device;
  • client does not present the original receipt of purchase, when deliverting device to service center.

If the Galaxy Care application is not installed on your device, download it from Galaxy Apps. If insurance is available for your device, you will receive a confirmation upon opening the application. After receipt of the confirmation, the insurance will automatically be activated for the next 3 months.

If upon purchasing a new device it does not have a notice attached regarding screen insurance, ask your seller about the availability of Galaxy Care!

Screen insurance can be activated by opening the Samsung ScreenCare application 30 days after the date of purchase of the mobile device.

HOW TO APPLY FOR REPAIR?

Apply for repairs on business days from 9:00 to 18:00 by calling:

When applying for repairs you will have to provide the mobile device serial number. You can find it:

  • by opening Settings -> About this device -> Status;
  • on the packaging
  • by opening the case (for mobile telephones only) - (see the instructions)

When delivering the device for service, remember to present the purchase receipt!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

How can I obtain Galaxy Care insurance for my mobile device?

Galaxy Care is available for particular SAMSUNG mobile device models that are intended for sale in the Baltic States. Activation of Galaxy Care is free. Upon opening the Galaxy Care application the insurance is automatically activated for the next 3 months. If insurance is not available for your mobile device model, the relevant message will appear upon opening the Galaxy Care application.

What is my mobile device insured against?

The screen and glass back panel of your mobile device is insured against breaking and other sudden and unforeseen external physical damage. In the event of breaking or damage to the screen IJSC BALTA will provide for its replacement with a new one. Mobile devices are also insured against damage by water. If the device is damaged after coming into contact with liquid, IJSC BALTA will provide for its repair. What is my mobile device not insured against?

The device repair will be refused if:

When does the insurance enter into force?

The insurance enters into force at the moment when the Galaxy Care application is opened for the first time and it displays the message

  • “Congratulations! Now your mobile device screen is insured!”;
  • “Congratulations! Your mobile device is now insured against damage by water.”;
  • “Congratulations! The glass back panel of your mobile device is now insured!”;

The insurance is activated automatically and no additional activation is required. If you do not see such a message, insurance is not available for your mobile device or the device is not connected to the network.

For how long will the mobile device be insured?

Your mobile device is insured for 3 months starting from the day of entry into force of the insurance, i.e. the day when you received the insurance confirmation from the Galaxy Care application. You can see the exact insurance expiry date in Galaxy Care application.
If repairs are performed twice within the insurance period, the insurance expires after the second repair .

How to check whether my device is insured?

You can see the confirmation that your device is insured in the Galaxy Care application. If the insurance is valid, the application will display the message that your mobile device is insured and the date until which the insurance is valid. You can also check whether the insurance is valid by calling the number specified under the section “What to do if my mobile device screen, glass back panel has broken or the device does not work after coming into contact with water?”

In which countries is the insurance valid?

Insurance is valid throughout the world. Even if your mobile device has suffered damage abroad, we provide for its repair at any authorised SAMSUNG service centre in Latvia, Lithuania or Estonia.

Am I permitted to repeatedly apply for repair of my mobile device in the event of repeated damage thereof?

If during the period of insurance the mobile device has been repeatedly damaged we will repair it again. During the insurance period you will be able to repair the device twice. However, the insurance expires after the second repair.

Will I have to pay for the repair?

Most of the repair costs will be paid by IJSC BALTA;, you will only have to pay the ;deductible or co-funding of EUR 30 for the first and EUR 50 for the second repair, or deductible or co-funding of EUR 50 for the first and EUR 70 for the second repair, depend from mobile device. You will have to pay your share at the moment when you deliver the damaged device to the service centre (before repair).

Who will repair the device?

Repairing of your mobile device will be performed by the authorised SAMSUNG service centre - MTTC.

How can I deliver the device to the service centre?

When applying for the repair by calling the specified telephone number, you will be offered several options of how to deliver the device to the service centre, for example, by delivering it yourself, by leaving it at a point of sale of business partners or sending it by mail. You will be able to choose the most convenient place and time for the mobile device delivery yourself.

Will the warranty of my device still be in force after repair?

Yes, the mobile device warranty will also be in force after repair. The mobile device repair will be performed witha new and original Samsung parts and such repairs do not affect the validity of the Samsung warranty.

What will happen if the mobile device also has other damage, not only a broken screen, glass back panel or damage by water?

Upon receipt of the damaged mobile device the service centre will inform you about the costs of repair for other damage and you will be able to decide yourself whether you want to repair other damage. If it is possible to repair the damage covered by insurance separately from repairing other damages and the device is able to operate correctly, the repairs will be performed. If it is not possible to repair separately from repairing other damage, the device will only be repaired if you pay for the repair of other damage. For devices additionally insured against damage by water, only such damage caused by liquid will be repaired which is not related to defects or damage of the device’s case.

What to do if my mobile device screen, glass back panel has broken or the device does not work after coming into contact with water?

As soon as possible, but no later than within 14 days after the damage of the device, call the specified telephone number and provide the serial number of your mobile device. The operator will ascertain that the device insurance is valid and will offer the options of where and how to deliver the damaged device, as well as where and how to pay the deductible or co-funding (see “Will I have to pay for the repair?”). The device and the purchase receipt must be delivered to the service centre within 14 days.
OR
Deliver your mobile device together with the purchase receipt to the nearest service centre acceptance point (MTTC link) within 14 days after the moment the device screen has broken.
